A Morning of Music and Joy at the Montreal Children’s Hospital

Une matinée de musique et de joie à l’Hôpital de Montréal pour enfants

On July 15, Surprise On Demand had the privilege of visiting the Montreal Children’s Hospital to bring a moment of comfort to patients, their families, and hospital staff.

Accompanied by a violinist, pianist, and cajón percussionist, our team visited several units throughout the hospital to perform short musical sets. From the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to the pediatric medicine unit, each performance was adapted to the environment and the rhythm of care.

Why This Initiative?

Surprise On Demand was created with the desire to transform simple gestures into truly meaningful moments. This initiative was an opportunity to bring that mission into a setting where a few notes of music and a thoughtful gesture can bring a little lightness to a difficult day.

In addition to the musical performances, our team brought children’s books, colouring books, and stuffed animals to extend these moments of joy for the children.

“When I created Surprise On Demand, it was important to me that the company would not only celebrate life’s major occasions, but also create moments of joy where they can make a real difference. This day at the hospital was a true reflection of that vision.”

— Auréanne Bisoka, President and Founder of Surprise On Demand

Throughout the morning, the musicians performed familiar and comforting instrumental melodies. Some children were able to enjoy the performances in common areas, while others listened to the music from their rooms.

This experience reminded us that a surprise does not need to be grand to be memorable. It can simply take the form of a song, a book, a stuffed animal, or a thoughtful gesture offered at just the right moment.

We would like to warmly thank the Montreal Children’s Hospital for welcoming us, as well as the musicians and everyone who contributed to making this initiative possible.
